A/N: There was a drabble challenge at Only_on_Sunday. We had to do a drabble using the word of the day for our birthdays from dictionary.com. There were about 4 or 5 years worth archived. The one that grabbed me was "hobbledehoy." Can ya tell from context why?

Spike's always had mixed feelings about the soul.

He's worked so hard to build his badass punk vampire persona, and it's served him so well he's forgotten at times that a persona's all it is. Certainly for several decades, the few times he thought of the prattling hobbledehoy that was William the Bloody, he saw nothing of himself in the memory.

But there's times - when Buffy believed, when the Turokhan beat but didn't break him - when demon and soul were in tune and it was like a soaring chorus.

He doubts Angel has any clue that's even possible.
