"Spike?"

Spike looked up at her, wondering what could possibly be going through her mind now.

"There's something I've been meaning to tell you for months now."

This could lead to nothing good. Or wait! That bint did say...

"Go on, Slayer." Hope was such a fragile thing to hold onto.

"Well...you see..."

He leaned in.

"You have spinach in your front teeth. See? Right there."

Buffy spread her lips to show him where the offending vegetable lie but Spike just got up to leave, leaving a string of curses behind him.
