SUMMARY: Answer to the POV drabble challenge

Suddenly it's all clear.  I began as a blank slate and by the end of the day I was a man with purpose…substance…a mission.  A vampire with a soul.  Proud and dutiful, with my superhero cohort, Joan, by my side.

Only, it was all pretense.  I'm no man.  I'm a monster.  One look in her terrified eyes before she fled confirmed it. 

Someday.  Someday, Slayer, I'll be the man you deserve.
