I assumed you'd all heard, Mr. Gordo landed a part in Toy Story 3 and so was unavailable this
season. Apparently Fox wouldn't agree to him having time off to film his scenes in the movie.
They said "It's them or us" so he left Buffy to do the movie. Shame... Jane
